As Associate at Seedcamp, Philipp manages portfolio relations, the application and selection process, and Seedcamp’s network of mentors and partners. He works closely with all of the Seedcamp companies to achieve their goals and get in touch with the right people in the network. His investment focus is on new web technologies, mobile applications, and innovative application of technology to existing markets, both consumer and business focused.
@andrewjscott is a serial entrepreneur whose interests include writing and film. After creating an irreverent magazine at school, he set up a small IT consultancy with his college as his first client. Start-ups since have included a web development company (worldwidecity), the world’s first online video news archive (BritishPathe), world’s first location based mobile social network (playtxt) and personalization platform (Rummble). Today Andrew mentors tech start-ups, is on the advisory board of MLOVE, the European Founder’s group ICE and has set up an independent film company “Port 20 Productions”. Andrew splits his time between London and the U.S. West Coast.
Originally from Silicon Valley, Roxanne is the former Editor of TechCrunch France. She is also the co-founder of Girls in Tech Paris and the co-organizer of the Failcon Paris conference. She is currently the Content Director for a VC-funded e-commerce startup, Carmine, and she continues to contribute to numerous international tech /startup publications including TechCrunch, Business Insider, The Kernel, BetaKit and her own RudeBaguette. Roxanne holds Master's degrees from The London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor's degree from UCLA (not like these really mean anything). Mikko Järvenpää is HackFwd's Marketing Geek. He provides the HackBoxes with practical marketing advice, ideas and education. He also manages the marketing of HackFwd. Mikko has been immersed in the online industry for over a decade. In 2003, Mikko joined Google in Mountain View and moved to the product marketing team in London in 2004, where he specialised in scalable marketing, marketing partnerships and emerging markets, resulting in dozens of partners and tens of thousands of customers. After leaving Google in 2007, he has worked closely with selected European startups and consulted large organisations from banking to media on innovation projects and marketing. Mikko holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BBA from the Helsinki School of Economics.
Lara is a qualified solicitor and trademark attorney and is the manager of Avidity IP’s Trade Marks Professional Service Group. She has experience both in private practice and in-house IP departments for multinational companies in the automotive and aerospace markets and regularly provides in-house IP training and legal advice on IP related matters e.g. trade mark, domain name and design portfolios management
Paul is currently studying towards qualification as a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney and training under the guidance of an in-house attorney. He has an MSc in Microsystems and Nanotechnology from Cranfield University and a BEng in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University in Ireland. Paul regularly provides IP training and advice on patent and design matters.
Ilya Braude is Co-Founder and Engineer at CloudMine - a platform that provides full backend support for applications via an API, allowing developers to build fast, scalable apps quickly. Prior to CloudMine, Ilya had a blast developing next-gen (“Jack Bauer”) mobile data collaboration systems for SWAT teams and managed projects at Drexel University for the DoD as a research staff member. Ilya graduated from Drexel University with BS and MS degrees in Computer Science. He loves to play with new technologies, talk tech, and keeps himself busy with activities such as Karate and rock climbing.
Brandon West is a Developer Evangelist for SendGrid. His focus is on empowering developers to build things, gathering feedback for new features and improvements, and fostering a cooperative developer community for anything that needs email integration. You can find him at hackdays and conferences around the country.
Brandon has been a web developer for the last 10 years and has a wide base of experience, from database integration to user interactivity for companies ranging from startups to enterprise application providers.
Adam Horner is a Forward Deployed Engineer with Palantir Technologies. Based in London, Adam draws on over a decade of experience working in the UK and European technology sectors in order to work closely with Palantir’s clients and partners to bring Palantir’s Silicon Valley vision and unparalleled products to these markets. Adam’s leads most of the deployments in the UK for Palantir spanning government and commercial clients.
